Privacy Policy
Last updated August 2026
Orari is built to keep a student's academic data private and local-first. This policy covers what Orari stores, how it syncs, and the one external source you control - your calendar feed.
Data we collect
Orari has no account system beyond your own iCloud account. Classes, subjects, assignments, exams, presentations, notes, study sessions, attendance logs, and your profile (including an optional profile picture) are stored locally on your device using SwiftData.
iCloud sync
Orari can sync your data privately across your devices through Apple's CloudKit, tied to your personal iCloud account. Orari has no server and no way to see your data - the developer cannot access it. An offline-first, local-only mode is also available if you'd rather not sync, and you can turn sync off at any time in iOS Settings or within Orari.
Notifications
Orari schedules local notifications for classes, exams, and deadlines directly on your device. No data is sent externally to generate them.
Calendar subscriptions
If you choose to import your timetable from a university calendar feed (an .ics URL), Orari fetches it directly from the server your institution provides. That request goes straight from your device to your university's server - Orari doesn't relay it through a server of its own, and the feed's operator is a third party you choose, not one built into the app.
Third-party services
Aside from a calendar feed you choose to add, Orari does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
Data retention and your rights
Your data stays on your device (and in your own iCloud account, if sync is on) for as long as you keep it there. You can review or delete it at any time within Orari, including with the Delete All Data control in Settings.
Because Orari has no account and no server, most rights under GDPR - access, rectification, erasure, and portability - are already in your hands through these in-app tools. For anything else, or to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, you can reach out using the contact details below.
Children's privacy
Orari is built for students and is not directed at children. It doesn't knowingly collect personal data from children, and because all data is stored locally with no account system, this is largely moot in practice.
